I got a message from the Search Console saying this:

Search Console has identified that your site is affected by 1 Coverage issue(s):
Errors can prevent your page or feature from appearing in Search results. The following errors were found on your site:

    Submitted URL returned 403

When I check the individual pages (there are 54 of them) under Index – Coverage, they all show this:

Page fetch Failed: Blocked due to access forbidden (403)

The pages display ok in the browser, so I’m presuming its an indexing problem.

But why, and how to fix this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there @kiwihawk,

While we’re limited to Site Kit specific queries here in the support forums when it comes to such Search Console errors there are a number of reasons for a 403 error on some URLs. I don’t see anything obvious from checking your site, including checking your robots.txt file. For that reason you’ll need to reach out to the Search Console Help Center for further assistance on this, where the product experts would be able to assist more than we can here in plugin support.

Along with checking this with the Help Center you may also wish to check your directory permissions for your site, from your hosting control panel. This is based on a similar query in the Search Console help forums, and from checking this error from other online resources.

Sorry we can’t be of more assistance on this. Best of luck with your site.
