Hello thank you for this plugin, i have great hopes to make my site with it ?? I just need to know as i haven’t seen this anywhere. Is it possible to customize search to be able to manually enter a price range and include it as a filter for the results, it is definitely a function visitors are expecting to find on such sites?
Is it also possible to search combination of one categorie at once. I mean to be able for one search to choose not 1 location from the list, but two or more at once?

Because the search by price is based on taxonomy, there’s no way to search by a price entered by the user. It would have to be pre-defined price ranges that you define.

Otherwise you would need to have a custom widget developed that searches the listing_price custom field. It’s really not as simple as you would think.

Same with searching more than one taxonomy at a time. A custom search widget would need to be developed that allows for multiple select options. That’s a little easier to accomplish but would still require a custom widget be created.

    Hello, thanks for quick answer.
After working with your plugin a bit more i really do feel that the search widget is the only thing that is missing some features and if it had them this plugin would provide the ultimate functionality!!
A more comprehensive search is indeed necessary if you are working with a bigger amount of listings. Features as search by custom price range and sq. feet. as well as SORT RESULTS BY are essential.
Do you think it is possible to use another search widget in combination with your plugin to achieve this, or might it be possible to receive this addon from you in the nearest future?

There are some search plugins that will let you search custom fields.

Creating a more robust search widget adds layers of complexity that increase exponentially, but will add it to our feature request list. Thanks!

Hi, again, just a thought here, a shot in the dark. If price is stored the same way as other taxonomy, then isn’t it possible for the search function to just regard it as numbers and thus eliminating the need for an entirely new widget to be able to achieve custom range functionality?

By the way for whoever is concerned, i haven’t tested anything yet but i have the following plugins bookmarked as possible solutions for the current topic:

The price isn’t stored as any other taxonomy. Taxonomies are user created and just price ranges, not actual values. The actual price is stored in a custom field named _listing_price
