Search by height range

Hi mikee1001,

You can now tick the Range checkbox for numeric fields too. Please note that the field content must be a number, not something like 5’10”. If you wish to use the imperial system, prevalent in the US and some other countries, you could consider using two different numeric fields for feet and inches.

Thanks Andrea. If I added 2 different fields (feet & inches), how would this work with the Range search, as there would be 2 fields for the ‘From’ height, and 2 fields for the ‘To’ height?

I’d like to offer a dropdown box for a user to select their height in their profile, is it possible to therefore add a dropdown for both the ‘From’ & ‘To’ fields in the search?

The two Range Search fields will look like:

Feet
from … to …

Inches
from … to …

The look depends on the form template you are using and, if necessary, you can modify the form template to suit your needs. A form template that displays a dropdown for both the From and To fields is bps-form-sample-1.

Ok, thanks Andrea… I can’t find the ‘bps-form-sample-1’ template in the form template dropdown list? Also, if I use this template, is it possible to have a dropdown for certain ‘From-To’ fields, and not for others? Many thanks.

Hi Mike,

If you can’t see one of the built-in BP Profile Search templates, probably you are using a premium theme, e.g. Kleo, that replaces the built-in templates with their custom ones.

If that’s your case, probably your best option is to ask your theme support team for advice.

Hi Andrea, do you know if this is a feature you could include in a future release? So instead of using 2 separate fields for e.g. height (ft/inches), you can combine it into just 1 field and search that field as a range? Many thanks.
