Search brings up full pages in Modern

In a Search within a site using the Classical design, when a Page’s content meets search criteria, the Excerpt is shown.
However, with my Modern style site, the ENTIRE found page is shown, rendering it too difficult to read the results.

Is this an issue of the Customizr designs, or the way I’ve set up my pages? I considered it might be a function of WordPress but both sites are on the same version. Advice and/or information is appreciated.

I noticed this issue in June 2019 and cannot figure it out.
