    Hi

This is a great plugin and saves a lot of time.

Is there any change to add a search box at the top of the list to speed up searching for pages. Even better if the search was shown as you typed in the box … narrowing the search as you type.

Also could posts be added to the list too. Pages in the list first then followed by posts.

    Thank you.

    Kind Regards

    Neil

    Hey Neil –
The search box is an interesting idea and something I might consider in the future.

If you check out the github page for the development branch of this plugin here: https://github.com/brettshumaker/Admin-Bar-Edit-Page-Links/tree/development you can download a version where I’ve added the option to add any post type on your website to the list of posts dropdown in the admin bar.

    Thanks!

    Hey Brett

Thanks for the positive feedback. Had a look at the development page and uploaded to my plugins. This looks a great idea … however after selecting pages and posts in settings the menu now works with sub menus for pages and posts but I only see 5 links in each menu. Not sure why?

Anyway I have reverted back to your original for now. Look forward to a new update sometime. Thanks again!

Oh, my fault. I switched the function being used to pull everything in and it’s default is 5 posts per page. I’ve updated that to pull all posts.

Give that a shot and let me know if you run to any issues.

How many posts are you working with? I worry about the performance of calling all posts.

Ok no problem. I have tried again. On the list of pages I get all of them (I think) but they are not totally in hierarchy order. As for the posts there is no scroll down the right hand side of the menu and I only get a page full of posts (23 in my case).

My site has 129 published posts and 474 published pages. The performance is not slowed in any way.

    I hope this helps.

    Hey Neil –
FYI, I just pushed the updates I had on the GitHub repo to the plugin repo today in version 1.1.0.

btw, that’s awesome that you’re not noticing a performance hit with that many posts/pages.

    Marking this resolved.

Great … thanks for that. However there are 5 links in each menu again. Can you change this to all posts/pages again?

    Regards

Done. Realized I never added that change to the repo. 1.1.1 has it.

Thanks that’s great. Just another point now … the ordering of the menus are not what I expect as they seem to be a bit random. They are certainly not in hierarchy order (which is what I expect).

Thanks again for your help and work on this.
