• Hello!
I use the PageBuilder Oxygen in WordPress and would like to use Relevanssi to improve the page search.
Unfortunately, Oxygen does not store the content in the structure expected by WordPress. The page content is in the ct_builder_shortcodes field in the postmeta table.

Can I adjust Relevanssi so that it also searches content in this field and makes it useful for the search?

    Thanks for your help!
    Nora

Make Relevanssi index the ct_builder_shortcodes custom field in the indexing settings, and you should be fine.

Dear Mikko, thank you for your help. Basically the search works now. But I would like to show not only the title of the respective search results, but also a small excerpt (preferably around the search term). Similar to function “the_excerpt”.
    Do you have any advice?

    Thank you!!! Nora

Yes: use the_excerpt(). If you have enabled custom excerpts from Relevanssi settings, the_excerpt() will display those.

Thanks for your wonderful plugin Mikko.
Wanted to let you know that adding the_excerpt() wont work (anymore), can you please check?
    I also tried: <?php the_excerpt(); ?> (in a code block).
Please see my search results template:

Oxygen support says: If you’re not happy with the text that it is retrieving, I would suggest reaching out the developers of Relevanssi to ask how you change what it returns.

First: please start a new thread for your problem, it’s much easier that way.

Second, if the_excerpt() doesn’t work, I can’t help much – that’s the official and correct way to display Relevanssi excerpts, and if nothing else is interfering and Relevanssi settings are correct, it will work.

I can’t help with Oxygen, because Oxygen is so wildly different from regular WordPress, and I have no access to it, so I don’t know what it is doing. I have no way of figuring out what that [oxygen data="excerpt"] means, it could be anything as far as I can tell.

Thanks for you super fast answer Mikko! Yes settings are fine. Here I show you: https://share.getcloudapp.com/E0uryR7Q.
Ok I will ask Oxygen again if they want Relevanssi to be a plugin their users can use. If they do, hopefully they will try to make it compatible. But before I do that, are you sure there’s no fix possible like these ones? https://www.relevanssi.com/knowledge-base/compatibility-avada-theme/ or https://www.relevanssi.com/knowledge-base/profile-builder-pro-compatibility/?

Sure, a fix is possible. I just don’t know what the fix would be, as I don’t know what Oxygen is doing. It’s a mystery to me, I’ve never seen what goes on inside it, and thus I can’t provide a fix. Someone probably can, it may need to be the Oxygen authors.

Ok clear. I will ask them again.
I thought my question matched perfectly with the last response in this excisting topic but you are right, I should have started a new topic indeed.
I will get back to this, maybe I am going to ask you later on if you could login and try to find out what is goes on inside oxygen..

    Hello Mikko,

Oxygen offers to send you a copy of the Oxygen Builder, do you want to receive it?
If you do, it’s not going to be easy I think, because, as you already mentioned yourself more or less: Oxygen don’t use the content area so the_excerpt won’t work because the excerpt is built from the WordPress content area. This is what Oxygen told me, so they recognize it.

    Paul

Yes, that’d be fine. I can be contacted at mikko at relevanssi.com.

Oxygen not using the content area is not a problem, Relevanssi has filters for that.

That sounds awesome. I forwarded your mailadres to Oxygen support.
Really appreciate your effort (and a mayor part of the Oxygen community with me I believe).
    Regards,
    Paul

    Hello Mikko,

Did you receive their mail at the 28th of october with a discount code so you can get a free copy of Oxygen?

Did you have a chance to take a look yet?

Yes, Oxygen support was added to Relevanssi couple of versions ago.

That’s awesome Mikko, thank you much!
