Search bar problem in the admin Media Library page

  • Hello everyone.

    Since this latest update of WordPress 4.9.2, I am having a problem with the search bar in my media library. Normally it is blank, but now it is auto-filled with login options inside of Google Chrome.

    Every time I open my library the word ‘admin’ is already in the search box. If I click on the box, the other login names scroll down as choices and it will not let me delete any names. If I delete, it automatically re-enters the name back into the box.

    This is preventing me from viewing all the items in my library and I cannot edit or remove anything.

    If anyone can provide me with some options on how to fix this I would greatly appreciate it. I have searched the forums, web and asked friends and it seems this is a unique problem.

    It look like this issue is related browser cache.
    Can you please try to open the same screen in different browser?
    Also try to clear your current browser cache.

    Let me know if you require further help.

    It is definitely something to do with Chrome, but the strange part is it only happens in the media library and it just happened when I re-authenticated my google search console.

    I clear my cache and history regularly because I work on several other websites, but it does not help the problem and it is only specific to the one page which is even odder.

    It is curious why this only happens in the library and not my posts or pages sections. Or anywhere else for that matter.

    Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

    You should clear or disable the autofill browser features.

    I gave that a shot. I disabled both the autofill and cleared everything from the browser. Of course, I had to log into the site again, and when I checked the media library, it still auto-filled my login name. I checked other sections of the admin area where they were search boxes and still nothing happens in them. This is only the media library.

    I have a feeling that I will just have to cope with this issue and if I need to edit in there I will use explorer or firefox.

    Since this is so isolated to one spot, it really boggles my mind.

    Most appreciated.
