Search Bar Near Header is HUGE

I added the Moesia extensions to put widgets above and below the header, specifically for a search bar (no sidebar; full width pages).

Problem is, the search bar is HUGE, height-wise. Truly, it is unnecessary for it to be that big. is there any way to reduce the size? Or can the search bar be put in another location where it won’t be huge and therefore, less obtrusive?

Please don’t recommend I add custom css code, because the last thing I want to do is write/add code. Thanks.
