    Good day folks,

We are reaching out to you due two reasons.

    The first one:

We are trying to add a custom google search on the site.

We decided to use the blog section for such purposes. So far we added the text needed in the subtitle section and added some html code to customize it the way we needed.

In between the text and the changes made, we added the code google provided for the search bar. It looked great initially, but when we cleared cache on the site, the blog section did not keep the code google gave us and therefore the changes made were not reflected.

Do you have any idea of what is happening and the way to solve this?

    The second one:

Hestia do have a way to enable/disable sections on the front page. As we are still adding code/testing the custom google search, we are enabling and disabling the blog section to check the work done.

But all of the sudden, we are still seeing the blog section despite of checking the disable option.

Do you know what is happening and how we can resolve this issue too?

In advance, thank you for your help and interest!

Thank you for getting back to us @irinelenache, our settings are based on Hestia Pro, but our suscription expired. We mentioned Hestia Pro as we understand it has other features than Hestia.

Coul you help us here please? Thank you for your help!

    Hello @copiaurbiertorbi,

Please activate Hestia free and let us know if the issue persists. If it does, provide some screenshots that would indicate the problems you are encountering, so we can better debug this.

    Best regards,

    Hello @irinelenache,

We followed your suggestion and installed Hestia free, but the issue still persists.

We customized the subtitle area including the snippet for the search bar. It looked great when we added the code, but after saving the work, even the snippet is there still, the search bar is not longer showing.

Here are some screenshots of the issue that we are facing:

    Hi there,

Due to security issues, the Section Title and Section Subtitle fields from each Frontpage section do not allow for HTML tags. ( Even if you see that it allows in the preview, the field is then sanitized before being displayed on the site )

You can try adding HTML content in the About section of the frontpage. That is the only place where some HTML elements are allowed.

    Regards,

    Rodica

    Good day,

We are not looking to add anything on the section about, because is not where we need it placed.

We need to add a container with the same size and aspects of any of the sections in the theme (title and subtitle only) and not in the about section. How do we do it?

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi,

Maybe this would help achieve what you need https://docs.themeisle.com/article/681-how-to-add-a-custom-section-to-hestia ?

    Hello there,

We thank you for the response.

We thought about using the custom layouts and the short codes, but we noticed two things: 1)the short code of the blog section and many others don’t work and 2) everytime we use these short codes we have the background color of the home page-template-default page.

Is there a way to fix the short codes but also be able to customize the background rendered in the custom layouts when we used short codes?

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi @copiaurbietorbi,

For the shortcode issues, please add some screenshots that indicate the malfunction, so we can further investigate.

    Best regards,

    Irinel

    Hello @irinelenache,

Here are the screenshots you requested, the first one is built with blocks and the second is using the shortcode of the blog:

    https://imgur.com/WQntv3E

    https://imgur.com/fYVPuce

As you can see, the second link presents a white space only when we use the short code. We tested others like subscribe, ribbon and it shows the same issue.

Where can we find the settings used on every section of the theme, like the font type and size of the title and subtitle, the px between them, but also the size of the container, amont other settings?

We want to adjust what we are building with the same parameters used on every section so the site shows consistency.

    Thank you for your help,

    Hello @copiaurbietorbi,

I think it doesn’t work because it doesn’t support the Google integration you added.

Here is a guide about how to create a custom section that you can use for Hestia: https://docs.themeisle.com/article/681-how-to-add-a-custom-section-to-hestia#usinghestiafree

    I hope this helps.

If you encounter any other issues, please open another support topic with all the necessary details and a URL of the website.

    Good day,

Thank you for getting back to us. We do need to add the snippet to create the bar we need though.

Will the code on the link you provided work by changing the youtube video (obviously the other settings to personlize it) for the google snippet that we have and need for the website?

If you are saying that it doesn’t support the Google integration we added, then we don’t see a point on adding or trying this code.

Perhaps we misunderstood. Could you clarify please?

    Thank you for your help.

    Good day,

We tried your suggestion and we added a layout where we needed it. In this case and for us is in between the features section and the team section.

    We tried adding the layout in several places ( hestia_after_features_section_hook ), ( hestia_top_team_section_content_hook ) and ( hestia_before_team_section_hook ).

The one that works for us is the first one. Nevertheless, when we added it, we noticed that there is a gap in between the layout and the team section.

We tried to play with the padding and margin of the layout but nothing seems to work.

We would like to know how to eliminate or close this gap in between the section in question and our layout.

By the way, we are not able to access our hooks nor see them in the section “customize” as before. We already added a new request for support here for this matter also, as both of these requests do have priority for our development.

Thank you for your help and prompt response.

    Hello @copiaurbietorbi,

Unfortunately, we cannot help you further on this matter as it is a 3rd party integration which requires custom code, which we don’t provide in the free version of Hestia.

For any other issues regarding the functionality of the product, please open another support topic and we’ll be happy to help.

    Best regards,

    Irinel
