    Hello,

We have added thumbnail images to Woocommerce Product Category archive pages, hoping the thumbnail image will be shown on google search results.

However, when I check the search appearance preview (both on Mobile and Desktop), Yoast doesn’t display the thumbnail image that I added.

    Please help.

    Thank you!

    Hello @shey18,

Thanks for reaching out about the Google Preview feature in the Yoast SEO plugin. The image shown in the preview is pulled from the featured image field. You can check that out for posts and pages. However, the WooCommerce product category doesn’t have this field but a thumbnail field.

Though you don’t see your thumbnail in the Google preview of our plugin, this doesn’t mean it won’t show in search results. When you view the page source, you can confirm that the primaryImageofPage property is present.

    Hello,

Thank you for your response. The primaryImageofPage?property is missing on all my site pages. I’ve checked the pages’ source code. I’m seeing this instead:

    “image”:{“@type”:”ImageObject”,”@id”:”https://domain.com/#primaryimage”,

    Is it the same thing?

    Please confirm.

    Thank you!

Thanks for the sample URL, @shey18. I can confirm that the?primaryImageofPage?property is missing. Apart from that, all Yoast SEO structured data output is missing because you have another plugin managing structured data: <script type="application/ld+json" class="saswp-schema-markup-output">

So, since the set thumbnail image is showing, reach out to that plugin developer for further assistance.
