search and display posts with certain custom fields?

  • Hi,

    I’m wondering whether there is a way to create a customized search that only searches through custom fields (not the post title or post content) and then lists the posts that contain specific custom field(s)?

    For example:
    I created custom fields for what my mood is like and the would like people to be able to search for all posts that I wrote when my mood is ‘good’

  • Check out Jerome’s Search Plugin & Keywords Plugin, which searches metadata/custom fields and produces keyword.php (customized search page) based on keywords you insert via custom fields.

    What I need is a completely separate search in addition to the existing search.

    I’m looking for something similar to this. It will be used as a method to sort posts.

    How I would like it to work is as follows:
    There will be a list of links in the sidebar which will be used to filter the posts. Posts only with a certain custom field (Key Only) will be displayed when the link is clicked. It should work just like the Archives, but using a different template file.

    I already created a custom template file which can do the filtering, but I don’t know how to have the links use this file for displaying the results.

    Any suggestions?
