Seamless Donations – Starting over – complete re-install.

    I originally uploaded and used version 3. I’ve updated to the current version 4.6 and cannot get the plugin to work.
    I have tried to uninstall via ftp, refresh and reinstall and I still cannot reach paypal – all I get is this message:
    /wp-content/plugins/seamless-donations/seamless-donations-payment.php on this server.
    From the log it appears that FSOCKOPEN is enabled.

    I also need to change the associated paypal account, but can’t find the way to do that either. I’ve read every single page of information that I can find on how to fix this and nothing is working for me.
    Now my question is: how do I completely remove every trace, including database, of this plugin, so that I can start over completely fresh?

    Any positive focussed help is deeply deeply appreciated – I do not wish to abandon this plugin.

    I just want to give everyone an update here. David graciously contacted me directly as a result of my sending him an email last night that I did not see until after posting this.

    What we discovered that I wanted to share is that if you are using Sucuri on your site, there is a chance that the ‘hardening’ that you are doing with wp-content folder is getting in the way.

    Reverting the’hardening’ will allow access for the /seamless-donations/dgx-donate-paypalstd-ipn.php to do it’s job.

    I’m hoping this helps someone else having difficulty.

    I still have this same problem. I have wordfence and have used securi in the past on this site but it is no longer installed. Please help

    Most likely (and I’m not sure, but I’ll reach out to both Sucuri and Wordfence) is that there’s a change to your .htaccess file. WordPress rewrites the .htaccess file when you change or update the permalinks page, so if you turn off those two services and re-hit the permalinks it might help.

    But it’s probably better in the long run to make sure that Sucuri and Wordfence work with that file.
