scrolling scoreboard

a novice –
I’m seeking to create a main page with a scrolling scoreboard.
Can anyone advise on this.
I want to be able to create my own backgrounds to each cell and add, obviously, changing data.
Can’t say I can suggest an example, but something like one might have seen on British TV showing a football league table.
