Scrolling on mobile device

The Google Maps plugin is brilliant! It presents the maps exactly as needed. The only issue is that when page scrolling on a mobile device with a smaller screen and the map is encountered it is difficult to scroll past the map. The map takes up most of the visible display and starts scrolling instead of the page. Is there a way to disable touch scrolling on the map until it is selected? I have all map controller functions turned off.
