• When using Chrome, Firefox, and Safari to browse sites using the Affinity theme – the scrolling experience is smooth. If you view the same sites using Internet Explorer or Edge, the site jitters when you scroll – it’s not a smooth scrolling action. This behavior is also visible on the Affinity theme Live Demo here: https://wordpress.com/theme/affinity .

Of course Internet Explorer has been discontinued and Edge market share is very low, but analytics report 20-25% of users still using one of these browsers.

Is this something that might be corrected eventually, or is it an unsolvable issue with these two browsers?

BTW – this is a beautiful theme. Thank you Automattic for creating it. We are using it for an event site for an annual golf charity event here: https://golf.jcmglobal.com .

Hi there, I’ve filed a bug report on this and the theme developers are going to look into it. Hopefully it can be improved.

Howdy! Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention.

Unfortunately there’s no easy fix for this IE 11/Edge browser bug, but we’ve added a workaround in the next version of Affinity that will detect these browsers and turn off fixed-attachment background images to prevent the jittery behavior when scrolling.

It should be available here next week!
