Scriptygoddess More>> problem…

I’m using the scriptygoddess More>> script to see more content without going to a completely seperate page. However it seems that if I put it in the middle of a sentence it starts the next word on a seperate line. Also it seems that in IE it changes the font that comes after <!--more--> until you start a new paragraph or add line breaks <br />
