I noticed quite a few scripts have a really pretty opening comment containing instructions, licence, etc, beautifully surrounded by **** ===== type borders.

Is there some sort of online generator that does this?

  • Most IDEs will do it for you when you write them.

Maybe I haven’t found that part of dreamweaver yet.

    Example: I can easily do a //comment

but the beautiful framed comment block…I figured there was something more to it than meticulously typing spaces and *’s to look just right.

Well, I guess it depends on what you’re talking about. For proper phpdoc documentation or something like it with @author, @version, @access etc, yes most IDEs will highlight it for you and handle the spacing. For the really elaborate stuff, I imagine it’s still all done by hand.

Thanks. I thought it was done with a process similar to ascii art but couldn’t find anything searching it on google.

    Thanks for your help!
