    Hi,
    The unnecessary screenshot images take up a lot (3MB) of space inside the plugin’s zipped file.

    sorry about that , but WordPress site requires that way if you want to display screenshot on plugin page : (

    www.remarpro.com does not requires that way if you want to display screenshot on plugin page. Please check this plugin guide page.

    All files should be placed into the assets directory of your SVN directory and will work for all versions of your plugin. This is a top level directory, just like trunk. You would not place the screenshots into trunk/assets or tags/1.0/assets.
