Hi. I installed this excellent plugin and I have a few comments. I am using the plugin as a floating bar. I have 5 services defined, being Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter.

    1) I tried positioning it in the lower right corner.

Unfortunately it will make the webpage a bit too wide (even though there is plenty of space) and a horizontal scroll bar appears at the bottom of my browser window. When scrolling up and down through the web page, the icons partly disappear behind that scroll bar.

    2) I then added a social pop-up with the same icons.

All of the sudden the floating widget only allows four icons besides each other. The fifth icon is on the next line. When scrolling up and down, that next line completely disappears under the webpage.

    3) I removed the pop-up and positioned the floating bar in the upper right corner.

That seems to work, except that this position again causes a useless and unnecessary horizontal scroll bar to appear.

So far my comments. (That wasn’t too painful, was it?) ??

Feature request, or help request if it is already there:

Is it possible to place the icons in a vertical bar rather than horizontal. I want to place the social in the middle left or middle right and then having the icons above each other is much better than having a horizontal row of icons (which partly covers the text in my web page).

    Please comment and/or enlighten me.

    Cheers, Peter

  • Thank you Peter. Here some short but down-to-the point responses:

1.) That is a template issue. Maybe you can ask the template creators about this?

2.) You should be able to set the number of icons you want to display in the same row under question 6

    3.) Same as 1.

Yes, you can display them vertically, just select 1 icon per row under question 6. Also see the faq: https://www.ultimatelysocial.com/faq

Hmm… Too bad for that. I have given up trying to ask anything from my Theme designer. Never had any response to my questions, even though I am using a paid theme… ??

But but but… Your answer under 2) is everything I needed. Thanks a lot. Money well deserved and on its way.
