Screen option doesn't drop down can't move menu options

  • For some reason since a few hours the ‘screen options’ menu doesn’t drop down any more when clicked + I can not move the menu option (and likewise options) anymore by dragging them with my cursor:

    I haven’t activated/installed ANY plugins, so that can’t be the issue.

  • Have you tried switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    Yes. In the default theme we still encounter the same problem. And we have no plugins activated or even installed.

    Try re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.
