Score Keeps Getting Worse

My mobile pagespeed insights score is now 17… Every time I try to fix an issue my score ends up going down. I just spent forever figuring out how to put expiration headers in my htaccess code to change the “Serve static assets with an efficient cache policy” from red to yellow and yet my score still went down. Can any savior point me in the right direction because I feel lost?
