School Site

    Hope this is the correct place to put this.
    I was wondering if anyone could help or advise me.
    I have been asked to make a new website for the school that I work at. Obviously chose WordPress.:)
    My question is, I need to make seperate departments ie Languages,English,Maths etc etc. I would need to make it possible for an admin or head teacher from these departments to be able to login and update any information for their dept only, like Maths homework or download a doc with homework etc. Does this sound like something WordPress could do?

    At the moment the school use an education web system which to be hones is really bad looking.
    I hope someoen can point me in the right direction.
