  • No because it isn’t a standard yet as you can see in the first line of your link:

    This term is in the “new” area – implementation feedback and adoption from applications and websites can help improve our definitions.

    So we chose to no implement it as can change and search engine doesn’t support yet also if a proposal exists.

    cool. Need to look into more of your documentation BUT there are 2 questions comes in mind immediately.

    1. The URL of the glossary term, is that fix or customizable?
    2. The Glossary Index/TOC, that can be suppressed and NON-INDEXABLE by google?

    Hello: at our school we have about 2,500 terms in the glossary and we have been using the plugin for years. Lately we are canceling its use on many recently created pages for aesthetic reasons.

    2 improvements that would be important to make
    1 – There is an option not to link all the terms that we put in bold, since it greatly ruins the aesthetics of the page.

    2 – Does the glossary include a tooltip function, minimum mentions or short terms that are not configured on a separate page… and at the same time those terms are shown in PopUp, when the others have to be clicked to explore them?

    Or, is there a parallel plugin that doesn’t cause compatibility issues with codeAt Glossary?

    Context: there are many terms that do not need to be created on a separate page, only that when a user positions themselves on them a definition of less than 50 words is displayed, without the need for a separate publication to exist.

    For us, the publications are indexed by Google and minimal mentions, since there is no destination page, would not be indexed. This would serve to improve a person’s understanding and would be very quick to generate.

    We were using another plugin to do that, but it gave us compatibility problems with this glossary.

    @sootedninjas:

    * Yes you can change it also in the free version https://docs.codeat.co/glossary/getting-started/#how-to-change-slugs-and-urls-for-your-glossary
    * What glossary index? Becase we offer a widget, a alphabetical index on top of archives and a shortcode (only on pro) for that. In the last case if you don’t want that is indexed by google you can put the shortcode in a page and put that on the robots.txt file (but usually who use our plugin use it just for SEO purposes)

    @fsorrentino:

    * Our plugin should ignore words inside HTML tags, we have a code just for that, if this is happening there is something wrong in your site, maybe a page builder that creates often issues
    * No the behavior per term if tooltip or not is not possible by option, you can do it with the plugin filters to change the behavior per page (we are doing it in our demo website as example in a page to use the footnote mode https://demo.codeat.co/glossary/wiki/back-to-the-future/)

    I suggest to you to open another thread as those issues are different by the thread user starter of the discussion and create confusion.
