    Hi there,

    I hope you are well.

Our multisite (consisting of 3 sites on a subdomain structure) is currently experiencing problems with the Customer Reviews for WooCommerce plugin.

None of our sites are sending the automatic scheduled reminders.

For example, we have an order with a scheduled reminder for the 29th of August but it still hasn’t been sent. See screenshot link below.

Any idea what might be causing this?

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Kind regards,
    Max

    Thanks for the article.

I’ve gone through it and it turns out Cron Jobs were not working properly!

Real Cron Job has now been enabled.

However, when checking cron events, the review reminder events are showing as happening on 1970-01-01 00:00:01.

    See screenshot – https://imgur.com/a/R0U4W7x

    Any idea what this means?

Note that the automatic reviews seem to be working now. Just not sure what to do with the events that were meant to happen in the past…

    Thanks for providing additional information!

The screenshot you shared shows a message saying that WP Cron is disabled. Perhaps, this is why the dates are 1970-01-01 00:00:01?

Yes you are right. We have WP Cron disabled so that we can run real Cron Jobs. Currently set to run every 5 minutes.

Is it ok to simply delete these old cron events?

Any other idea what might be causing the dates to show 1970-01-01…?

    Thanks in advance.

To be honest, I’m not completely clear what you are doing with those “real” cron jobs ??

If WP Cron is disabled, then perhaps all cron events will have 1970-01-01 date?

    Hello again,

By real cron jobs, I mean setting up cron jobs from the server side.

I just ended up deleting those old events from 1970 and running a manual cron event for each of our sites to clear any old ones.

Cron events are now working and scheduled review reminders are going out.

There is only one problem left…

The option to send manual reviews is not available for some orders.

See screenshot below showing one order that has the option and the one below that does not.

    Any idea why this is?

    Kind regards,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to tell why based on the screenshot that you provided. Can you please share a larger screenshot that will show order statuses as well?

    Hello again,

    Sorry for the slow reply.

It seems like completed orders lose the ability to send manual review reminders, while orders in processing still have the ability.

    Looking forward to your thoughts.

I’ve just realised why this might be occurring…

The order status is set to ‘processing’ instead of ‘completed’ for sending review reminders.

Could this be why some completed orders don’t allow manual review reminders?

    Thanks for providing additional information.

Yes, it is because you configured the plugin to send review reminders for the “Processing” order status. If you want to send review reminders when orders are “Completed” (which usually makes more sense), please adjust your settings accordingly.

    Thank you.

I’ve since changed the setting to ‘completed’.

Hopefully this fixes the issue ??

Thanks again for all your help.

    Stay safe!

    MJ
