A few weeks ago, my scheduled posts stopped publishing. The time/date passes, and I see a red “missed schedule” error. I haven’t added any new plugins in months, so I’m not sure what changed as they previously published as scheduled.

When I asked this question a few weeks ago, someone in this thread suggested it might have to do with W3 Total Cache plugin? I am using this plugin because it was recommended by my hosting provider. Prior to using this, I received a site health warning about not having a page cache.

I’ve already contacted my host to see if the scheduling problem was an issue at their end. They said it was due to my site not having the time set correctly (?) but I’ve used WordPress for many years and have never done anything to change the time. They “re-set” the time but this didn’t fix anything; my posts still do not publish as scheduled.

Is there something I need to change in plugin settings to make sure my posts publish as scheduled? Right now I’m having to publish manually, which defeats the purpose of scheduling in advance.

    Hello @bastecutfold

Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to help!
I’ve tested this behavior and the scheduled post are published, so I was not able to replicate the issue.
Can you please temporrely disable the W3 Total Cache, and create a test post for scheduled release, and let me know if the issue persists, so we can determine if the issue is related to the W3 Total Cache?

    Thanks!

@vmarko I tried this just now, and with W3 Total Cache disabled, the test post published as scheduled. So it does seem the issue is related to the plugin.

    Hello @bastecutfold

    Thank you for your feedback.
Can you please sahre what you are using for the scheduled posts, some plugin or simmilar or the native WP sheduling?

ALso, what are the settings enabled in the General settings in the plugin?

    Thanks!

I’m just using the native WordPress scheduling, no plugins.

For settings, the following are enabled:

    Page cache
    Validate timestamps
    Object cache
    Browser cache

    Hello @bastecutfold

    Thank you for your feedback.

Can you please disable the settings one by one in Performance>general settings, save the settings and purge the cache after each setting is disabled and see which one might be causing the issue?

    Thanks!

Sure. How will I know if it’s causing the error? Will I receive some kind of warning, or do I need to schedule a test post after each one?

    Hello @bastecutfold

Sorry for the late reply. As I’ve mentioned before I cannot replciate the problem. I would start with the Page Cache and create a test post to schedule and see if it helps!

    Thanks!
