Scheduled posts being sent before publication

I found many complaints about this about a year and a half ago in this forum. Whether it was never fixed or has returned is not clear, but I have a post that was added to our website yesterday but is not scheduled to be published until 3 days later yet the notifications immediately started getting sent out for the unpublished post.
