• Upgraded to 3.0.2 yesterday (it fixed two open problems, thanks!).

But having a new one. Or actually this happened previously, but I didn’t explicitly mention as the two other issues were more significant:

I scheduled a once-per-day backup, to happen at 6:50 in the morning.

As this is a test-site, there is almost no traffic, i.e. the backup started at 7:03, finished after 53 seconds … then the next one started… altogether 5 times. From the activity log:

    30th Jul 2013 7.08.07 AM – 30th Jul 2013 7.08.22 AM – 15s – Successful – Scheduled Backup Local Compressed Encrypted – 21.97 MiB (2707 files) 49.11 MiB (2707 files) View Events (14)
    30th Jul 2013 7.06.56 AM – 30th Jul 2013 7.07.15 AM – 19s – Successful – Scheduled Backup Local Compressed Encrypted – 21.97 MiB (2707 files) 49.11 MiB (2707 files) View Events (14)
    30th Jul 2013 7.05.37 AM – 30th Jul 2013 7.05.56 AM – 19s – Successful – Scheduled Backup Local Compressed Encrypted 21.97 MiB (2707 files) 49.11 MiB (2707 files) View Events (14)
    30th Jul 2013 7.04.36 AM – 30th Jul 2013 7.04.57 AM – 21s – Successful – Scheduled Backup Local Compressed Encrypted 21.97 MiB (2707 files) 49.11 MiB (2707 files) View Events (14)
    30th Jul 2013 7.03.10 AM – 30th Jul 2013 7.04.03 AM – 53s – Successful – Scheduled Backup Local Compressed Encrypted 21.97 MiB (2707 files) 49.11 MiB (2707 files) View Events (14)

As you can see, each “next” backup starts shortly after the previous backup is finished.

I am slightly suspecting a “mis-interpretation” of options. I have configured to keep 5 backups always as minimum. It executed 5 times in a row. But I already had 4 previously created (manual) backups. In my humble opinion it does not make much sense to create 5 backups within minutes… But I’m not sure if this is the cause.

Will check again tomorrow. Today I deleted 4 of the 5 automatic backups, keeping only one… curious what will happen tomorrow morning.

    Kind Regards, Herbert

    Hi Herbert,

I think I’ve worked out the cause of this one and should be able to prevent it. I think WordPress may be triggering the schedule multiple times over a period of 3-4 minutes, and because the backup finishes within a minute it causes it to run again until WordPress flushes the schedule.

I’ll update when I have something ready.

    Jason.
