Scarlett Theme Plug-In Trouble

  • I was wondering how to fix the problems I have been having with the Scarlett theme. The download went fine and I got all the files in the right spots and when I went into my wordpress dashboard and in the plug-in tab. I then tried activating some of them. But when I tried activating a certain one, it said ‘fatal error’ and I wasn’t able to view my site. Since then I renamed the plug-ins folder and then changed it back to normal and am wondering whether to delete the problem plug-in (wp-cumulus and there might be others). The thing is, I would’ve already deleted it but it that plug-in is literally built into the theme. So, any ideas?

    Here is the error message:

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare wp_cumulus_widget() (previously declared in /home/supercoa/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-cumulus/wp-cumulus.php:305) in /home/supercoa/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-cumulus/wp-cumulus.php on line 305

    That’s strange. Both locations are identical. So it would seem the function isn’t actually there twice. It appears that wp-cumulus is getting initialized twice somehow.

    As far as I can tell the theme does nothing out of the ordinary when invoking the function either. Could you check to see if everything got uploaded right (and only once)? Does WP-Cumulus work ok if you switch to a different theme?

    I don’t really want to know. I’m a beginner at all this plug-in stuff so don’t expect me to chnage theme very easily woith out something going wrong.

    Temporarily changing theme shouldn’t cause (m)any issues. However, the best thing probably is to contact the theme’s author anyway. This looks to me like it’s either theme related or has something to do with faulty uploads.
