Scans still running 3+ hours later?

  • Installed WordFence on 5 sites all using the latest WP, the same theme and latest version of it. Stalk setting except added scanning of images as we once had a site where an malicious image caused issues. Two of the site scans ran and completed in just a few minutes but three others are still running over 3 hours later. Is this normal? How long should I let it go? It doesn’t seem to interfere significantly with site performance or availability.

    Scans do not usually take that long. You can stop the scan manually where it says “Click to kill the current scan.” under the “Start a Wordfence Scan” button. Then you can try it again.

    If it keeps getting stuck, you can enable debugging mode at the bottom of the Diagnostics page and post the last 20 lines or so of the “Scan Detailed Activity” log. Then we can investigate further if needed.
