Scans causing my hosting account to be limited

    When running a scan on even a small word press install, the scans are causing my hosting account to be limited. Even after I told the scan not to bother with files outside of the wordpress install, I’m seeing the input/output processes getting limited during scans. My sites really don’t warrant me upgrading to get more bandwidth since I normally use very little of the resources available to my account. What should I do to ease the impact that scans have on my hosting account.

    I tried posting this question yesterday but it doesn’t seem to have shown up in the discussion list.
