Scanning with barcode reader

Hi!
So, I’m looking for a way to do autofocus to the search field after doing a search. We use a barcode scanner and usually search a lot, so it’s kind of cluncky to have to scan, click with the mouse, scan again.
I’ve looked into the keyboard shortcut and it helps, but sadly our barcode reader is not configurable, so we can’t add a prefix to the scan.
