Scan won't complete –> Stored Data not found after a fork

    Hello,

    I am using wordfence for like one year now. Yesterday wordfence was acting strange and kept saying “Scan can’t continue – stored data not found after a fork. Got type: boolean”. I researched the problem on google and this forum but all the solutions didn’t work. I increased some numbers but no result.

    Maybe you know some other solution.

    The 6.1.4 update has fixed the “scan won’t complete” issue for me.

    I have re-enabled MALWARE scanning and have completed two scans successfully.

    I too had the “…Stored Data not found after a fork…” problem with Wordfence 6.1.3. The scans worked after I unchecked “Scan for signatures of known malicious files”.

    After Wordfence updated to 6.1.4, I rechecked this. But the first scheduled scan simply stalled after scanning 4100 files. There was no error message.

    I have again unchecked this and manually started another scan. This time the scan successfully completed. Do you still have a bug?

    Hello aichedvs,
    a lot of people have reported back saying that the bug has been fixed for them since 6.1.4. A few people are still having issues. It sounds like in your case the scan might be running out of memory. On the Wordfence options page you could try increasing “How much memory should Wordfence request when scanning” to 256.

    To verify that this is a memory issue you can check your server (apache) error logs for any lines that start with [error]. If you see some lines with [error] but don’t know how to interpret them you can share them here and we will help with that.

    All seems okay now. I rechecked the “Scan for signatures of known malicious files” and two scheduled scans have since been successful.

    If the stall problem recurs, I’ll look at the memory.
