Scan Time Limit Exceeded – Issues

I would try asking your host to see if they can increase your php memory limit.

If that doesn’t work, I recommend disabling/enabling start scans remotely (which ever is not in use)

I believe the php memory limit value is already set to the max. Where or how do I disable and enable the start scans remotely?

Hi there,

Can you do the following so I can get the information I need to help find the reason scans aren’t completing?

• Kill the existing scan if it is still running (The “Start New Scan” button turns in to a “Stop” button while the scan is running) 
• Go to your Scan > Scan Options and Scheduling page and locate the “Performance Options”
• Set “Maximum execution time for each scan stage” to 20 on the options page
• Click to “Save Changes”
• Go to the Tools > Diagnostics page
• In the “Debugging Options” section check the circle “Enable debugging mode”
• If “Start scan remotely” is checked, uncheck this option.  
• Click to “Save Changes”.
• Start a new scan
• Copy the last 20 lines from the Log (click the “Show Log” link) or so of the activity log and paste them here

Firewall on my web host? Not that I’m aware of, just the standard Shared Hosting Evironment.

Can you try restarting memcache and see if that works?

If that doesn’t work, and there are other sites in your server, that could be the issue too

Yeah I have another site on the same server that also experiencing the same scan timeout issues. I think my web hosting doesn’t have enough PHP memory overall as it’s only 512MB.

Well thanks for your help anyhow. I’ll just ignore these scam timeout notifications in the future.
