Scan Time Limit Exceeded

    I keep seeing this message in scan emails:

    ‘The scan was terminated early because it reached the time limit for scans‘

    Any ideas?

    I’ve deactivated ‘Scan images, binary, and other files as if they were executable’, but I’d prefer not to turn things off if possible?

    Hi @dtrim

    By default scans run for a maximum of 3 hours. You can extend this using the option Time limit that a scan can run in seconds found in the scan Performance Options section. Setting a value of 21600 will allow the scan to tun for 6 hours. If you are on a shared hosting plan we recommend that you do not run scans for more then 6 hours.

    The scan option Scan images, binary, and other files as if they were executable is disabled by default and should only be enabled if your site is already showing signs of being infected.
