my website has been hacked and it is redirecting to spam sites. I am using wordfence and i am unable to recover my website.

Wordfence identified 3 problems. I repaired them all. But the bug is still inside the website. it is still redirecting.

I just dont understand the purpose of Wordfence, when it can not Stop the bug or repair the problem…
secondly how can the bug get into my website when Wordfence was there to protect my website.

There should have been option in wordfence to block every IP who try to insert codes.

Hi @ashharlodhi, sorry to see you’ve had an issue with possible malware on your site.

I can’t comment on how exactly this may have occurred but I can try to point you in the right direction. There can be multiple attack vectors such as insecure or outdated plugins, insecure admin accounts, or even factors outside of WordPress such as your hosting or database credentials.

It might be an idea to email a downloaded copy of any affected file(s) showing as high severity from your scan to samples @ wordfence . com. They should be able to provide more detailed information around what could have happened and let you know whether a site cleaning should be performed.

Please note that when attaching files, ensure that you remove any database access credentials or keys/salts contained inside before sending.

For your information and remove any potential delay around getting you the information you need, I’ll provide our site cleaning instructions to help you out. We recommend that you make a full backup of the site before making any changes: https://www.wordfence.com/docs/how-to-clean-a-hacked-wordpress-site-using-wordfence/

As a rule, any time I think someone’s site has been compromised I also tell them to update their passwords for their hosting control panel, FTP, WordPress admin users, and database. Make sure to do this.

Additionally you might find the WordPress Malware Removal section in our free Learning Center helpful.

If you are unable to clean this on your own there are paid services that will do it for you. Wordfence offers one, but there are others.

    Thanks,
    Peter.
