  • Hi,

    Try the settings listed here.

    https://support.wordfence.com/support/articles/1000011148-my-wordfence-scan-is-not-completing-what-should-i-do-

    You could also set the option to allow scans to start remotely.

    Let us know if that helps,
    Brian

    Thanks @wfbrian,

    I attempted to increase and things seemed to go further and further until I got to 400+ then it seemed to not get as far as the previous attempts.

    I enabled debug mode and am seeing alot of errors with the W3 Total Cache;
    [Mar 05 03:37:46] opendir(/home/ricste40/gericconstruction.com/wp-content/cache/db/000000/options_comments/): failed to open dir: No such file or directory (2) File: /home/ricste40/gericconstruction.com/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/inc/functions/file.php Line: 82

    I haven’t had any conflicts with Wordfence and W3 Total Cache on other installs. Is there anything I can do to accommodate this?

    Your help is appreciated,
    Thank you

    Thanks for the info. Yeah, it definitely does not like W3 Cache for some reason. Can you try disabling the cache plugin and then running another scan? If that works, turn it back on and scan again. Maybe even better is removing the cache plugin and the do a clean reinstall of it.

    Thanks Brian,

    I deactivated the plugin and it processed much further than before, but got stuck still.
    In the log there were the following error multiple times:
    [Mar 06 18:44:19:1425667459.087974:4:error] gzinflate(): data error (2) File: /home/ricste40/gericconstruction.com/wp-includes/class-http.php Line: 2108
    But it seemed to get stuck here;
    [Mar 06 18:44:27] Scanning contents: wp-content/themes/enfold-child/video/CONASYS_explainer.mp4 (Size:40.49M Mem:49.5M)
    [Mar 06 18:44:32] Scan process ended after forking.

    Is it because the mp4 is so large?
    Thanks

    Try excluding that file and see if it gets any further. You can do that in Options.

    https://docs.wordfence.com/en/Wordfence_options#Exclude_files_from_scan_that_match_these_wildcard_patterns.

    Thanks @wfbrian, You’ve been greatly helpful as I step through this process.

    The GOOD News – [Mar 09 18:10:20]Scan complete. You have 1 new issues to fix. See below.Scan Complete.
    Whoop whoop.

    On the recent run I noticed this error:
    [Mar 09 17:38:48] get_themes is deprecated since version 3.4! Use wp_get_themes() instead. (1024) File: /home/ricste40/gericconstruction.com/wp-includes/functions.php Line: 3378
    *Not sure if that matters.

    And this is still occurring multiple times during a scan;
    [Mar 09 18:10:21] gzinflate(): data error (2) File: /home/ricste40/gericconstruction.com/wp-includes/class-http.php Line: 2108

    But those aren’t really an ‘issue’ as the scan completed finally, thanks for that.

    You’re a star.
    Cheers
