• Resolved Kylen Downs

I’ve been unable to resolve an issue initializing a scan. I’ve gone through the scan troubleshooting steps, removed wordfence and data and did a fresh install, verified htaccess files, whitelisted IPs, and otherwise verified everything else listed in the scan troubleshooting article.

The primary issue noted from the diagnostic tab is under the “Connecting back to this site” section as it’s returning this notice:
wp_remote_post() test back to this server failed! Response was: 200 OK

I’m not sure on the intended or expected response or what URL it’s attempting to hit, but an http 200 seems like it should not be causing issues.

Hi @kdowns, thanks for getting in touch.

In the case of a 200 OK being reported, but the connection back to your site failing, it’s a possibility that a plugin to change the WordPress admin URL (or other redirect on HTTP error codes that send the user the homepage, for example), custom code in the theme’s functions.php, or certain?mu-plugins?could be a factor.

Aside for checking for some of the above yourself, there are some URLs I can try to follow to see if API or Ajax requests are working properly, but will need some further information. The easiest way to do this is to send a diagnostic report to us at wftest @ wordfence . com directly using the link at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

    Many thanks,
    Peter.

    Hi @kdowns,

I can’t seem to find a diagnostic report in our inbox containing your username, were you able to find a resolution through disabling plugins or redirects?

    Thanks again,
    Peter.

I apologize, I missed the response notification from your first message. The diagnostic email has just been sent.

    Hi @wfpeter,

Any updates on this? The diagnostic email was sent over a few days ago.
