• I know that you can only schedule a scan with the premium version of the plugin but how does Wordfence decide when to scan? It seems to do it in the middle of the work day all the time and if it’s on a lot of sites on one server it can cripple access. Why wouldn’t it automatically pick an after hours scan time? Thanks.

  • Hey @zorlac,

The schedule is triggered by a cron job that’s initiated when you install Wordfence. It doesn’t have a way to know your optimal hours to scan. If you do seem to be running into resource issues you might try reinstalling to try and adjust the scan timing.

With that said, it really shouldn’t cripple the server if you have ample resources. If you do run into resource issues, please let us know and we can take a closer look.

    Thanks,

I have just over 100 websites with the plugin on 1 server and it appeared that the majority of them were scanning at the same time. Unfortunately the time was a late morning/just before lunch scanning time.
