• Hi when I try and scan it gets to this stage:
Scanning file contents for infections and vulnerabilities
    [Jun 07 10:25:42]
Scanning files for URLs on a domain blacklist

And then just does nothing. I’ve tried to kill the scan and start again but same result. Yesterday got alerted by 1&1 of a suspicious file and luckily they sorted it. But now I’m worried. How can I make the scan work?
    Many thanks
    J

Hi yes I think it always hangs at that point – does that help?

Mine is hanging at the identical point. It seems to be on the scanning of UPDRAFT PLUS (a backup plugin), but not 1oo%.

The other aspect for me is that this is a new 1&1 separate contract. My other umpteen WP sites all function and run scans 100%, so I suspect it is a 1&1 folder permission or something similar.

I will post further data, as just running a debug here at present.

    Stevo

This is the debug info on one site (point at which it hangs):

OK – I don’t understand that directory doesn’t exist on my server?

Apologies if unclear. It’s a plugin folder (updraft plus).

Wordfence are looking at this and I’ll give feedback shortly…

    Stevo ??

@sd142ppr If it always gets stuck at the same file related to “updraftplus” plugin, I suggest excluding the whole plugin folder from scan and re-check this issue, you can exclude /wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/* in “Exclude files from scan that match these wildcard patterns“.

@soundsvisual you need to enable “Debug Mode” from (Wordfence > Tools => Diagnostics) before running a scan, by this way you will figure out at which file the scan hangs.

    Thanks.

@wfalaa – thank you, but that just excludes Updraft Plus. It still always ends with:

“[Jun 29 16:35:41] Scan process ended after forking.”

    Stevo ??

WORDFENCE now dealing with this at top level ??
