    Hello, @lisa4devbite

The hoover table should be emptying when a scan completes, and the scan failing is likely related to the issue.

Could you please navigate to?Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics?and click?Send Report by Email?at the top. Use the email wftest at wordfence dot com and put your forum username in the second field and send those. Also on the same page at the bottom in?Debugging Options, please enable the option?Enable debugging mode.?In this same section, be sure the?Start all scans remotely?option is disabled.

Next, go to?Wordfence > Scan > Scan Options and Scheduling?and check to see if the bottom two options in?General Options?are disabled. It would be best to have those disabled for now to try to get a scan to complete (Scan files outside your WordPress installation, Scan images, binary, and other files as if they were executable)

Just below that, in the Performance Options, set the Maximum execution time for each scan stage to 20.

In the?Advanced Scan Options?area under that section, please set?Maximum number of attempts to resume each scan stage?to?5. Be sure to save the changes on each page before leaving.

You can then go back to the scan page and cancel any scan which may be running and start a new one. When it hangs up or fails, click the “View Full Log” there above the scan and copy over the top 20 lines or so and send them over here if you could.

    Thanks,
    Scott

    Hello, @lisa4devbite

I did not see the log file come over. Can you please send that again after trying a scan?

Do you have a staging site to test on by chance? It is possible a plugin (or the theme) is conflicting and being able to deactivate those can help.

Also, I see a 60 GB error log file. I recommend checking that after trying a scan to see if anything stands out, then consider removing that and allowing a new log to generate.

    Thanks for that.

Can you confirm where the site is hosted, and if scans have worked with the site there at any point?

If possible, I recommend running a new scan and when it fails, grab the corresponding raw access logs and send those over. You can also review those with your host as it appears something on the server is blocking the scan from continuing.

If you send those over, please confirm here so I can take a look.

    Thanks,
    Scott
