Installed plugin on one site and all worked well.

On next site the scan fails with a fatal error of “Call to undefined function wp_get_themes() in /home/user/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wfScanEngine.php on line 292”

This site uses a child theme. The scan theme option was not set to scan themes. Reloaded wfScanEngine.php but still not working. WP admin panel has no trouble listing all available themes.

Any clues would be helpful. Thanks.

  • Hi,

Sounds like an issue with that theme. Can you try the default WordPress theme temporarliy to test?

I have a similar issue, can’t even access my dashboard or anything else to do with the site, this just comes up instead:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘, expecting ‘,’ or ‘;’ in /home/natbri6/natwho.com/wp-content/themes/sg-window/inc/widget-functions.php on line 102

This line tells me your theme has a problem

Solved — there must have been an incompatibility. The original test that failed was on wordpress 3.3.1. When all else fails, get things up to date and try again. Now with wordpress 4.2.2 the scan is working fine and it has no trouble with any of the themes – children or no. Thanks for all the ideas.

Aah, then it seems the old WP version may be the problem. I am getting the message too on an undermaintained site I just took under my wing.
Will report back if WP is not the issue

@kpolljonker: Updating WordPress itself is also important to keep your site secure. If you still have trouble after updating, please make a new post using the form at the bottom of the Wordfence forum here.

Since this post was already marked resolved, and the www.remarpro.com forum rules ask us to keep each person’s issue separate, this will help make sure we see and answer your post. Thanks!
