• Hi,

Wordfence cannot start new scan and it gives me this error: “Scan Failed: The scan has failed to start. This is often because the site either cannot make outbound requests or is blocked from connecting to itself.”

I’ve deactivated all plugins except Wordfence and reverted to a default theme, and the only thing that fixed the issue was to disable Cloudflare on the site, deactivate and then re-activate Wordfence. When I enable Cloudflare, the error appears again.

My hosting provider is EasyWP by Namecheap, I contacted them about this and they said the database is working fine and that they checked everything except global blocks. I’ve also sent you a Diagnostics report by email to review.

Let me know if you need anything else to help me fix this.

    Hey @stilians,

Which method of How does Wordfence get IPs are you currently using? Can you please try cycling through the different options to see if it helps?

@tbmbrakes, can you please start a new thread? I believe your issue is going to be different.

    Thanks,

    Hi Gerroald,

I’m using the following method: “Use the Cloudflare “CF-Connecting-IP” HTTP header to get a visitor IP.” I’ve cycled through all the options, but nothing fixed the issue.

    What should I do next?

I believe Im having the same issue.

I have added the Wordfence IP address range to “allow” on my Cloudflare firewall rules, but no luck.

Also, just learned from this thread about the Cloudflare setting. That didn’t work.

Tried the idea above, about deactivating Cloudflare and then deactivating/reactivating Wordfence. But that didn’t work.

This is frustrating as it was working fine until about 2 weeks ago.

    Hey @stilians,

Can you send me a Diagnostics report so I can get a better overview of your environment? Please navigate to Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics. Here you can select SEND REPORT BY EMAIL. Please include your www.remarpro.com username and update this thread after you’ve sent it.

@laiturinpoika – Can you please open a separate thread as the issues may seem similar, but with different causes.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

    Hey Gerroald,

I’ve just sent you the report (to wftest @ wordfence.com, right?).
