Scan failed unable to contact servers

hey all

on the wordfence dashboard, getting the following error:
Scan failed: The Wordfence scanning servers are currently unavailable. This may be for maintenance or a temporary…

curerntly using wordfence basic

but when I go to the scan dashboard the error no longer shows up
do I just click X to clear this error?
