• Hi,

I recently installed wordfence and most scans work perfectly with one exception: file changes.

Wordfence return the following error message:
Scan failed: There was an error starting the scan: Only HTTP(S) requests are handled.

I tried to allow external scans but it did not work either.

I run a standard bitnami wordpress install on google gloud compute engine. All my traffic goes through cloudflare with end to end (full) encryption.

Any ideas as to how I can solve the problem?

    Many thanks,

    Arthur

  • Hey @platoche56,

Can you send me a Diagnostics report so I can get a better overview of your environment? Please navigate to Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics. Here you can select SEND REPORT BY EMAIL. Please include your www.remarpro.com username and update this thread after you’ve sent it.

    All done. Let me know.

    Hey @platoche56,

It looks like there may be some database issues, at least with Wordfence. Currently, you’re missing the new database tables, and the old ones from a rewrite are still there. It seems something didn’t update correctly. Can you please try completely resetting Wordfence, reinstall it and let me know if it helps?

    https://www.wordfence.com/help/advanced/remove-or-reset/#remove-or-reset

Please let me know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

All did scan works perfectly. Thanks.

I keep having a problem with the the admin url that somehow always revert to my “staging” not “www” prefix. I know the trick to update the values in DB but that is slightly irritating I must say. Which values from the DB does it fetch to set that value?

    Hey @platoche56,

Thanks for the update, and happy to hear it!

In WordPress Dashboard > Settings > General do you have the WordPress and Site URLs set to your preference?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

It is greyed out so I believe I set it from the wp-config file.

    Hey @platoche56,

This is very likely. You can update this as well.

Please give this a try and let me know if it helps.

    Thanks,

    Hey,

Yes I though I had changed it because the settings area was showing the correct url but it turns out the http_config was ‘localhost’.

    All fixed now.

    Many thanks,

    A

Sorry for re-opening but the problem has come back a few days after I marked it as resolved (only posting about it now, I had a lot on my plate).

    Problem 1
So to be clear, I still face the same scanning error.

    Problem 2
The URL in DB records (WP_SITEURL WP_HOME) has remained the correct one however all emails reference the following admin page url:

The Wordfence administrative URL for this site is: https://staging.*****.com//wp-admin/admin.php?page=Wordfence

It should say “www” not staging…

    Problem 3
The plugin blocks my customers login in some countries and the reset password attempts.
It is possible to use wordfence to monitor admin login only?

    Thanks,

    A
