Scan Engine Error

  • Got this error this morning while a scan was running – any ideas?

    Scan Engine Error: Wordfence could not start a scan because the cron key does not match the saved key. Saved: 7445103660390113ac4ce5e Sent: 418ec8fed2ef74a83a57 Current unexploded: 1463056920,7445103660390113ac4ce5e

  • Hello endlessimagery,
    there are two things you can try.

    1. Disable config caching. This option is available on the Wordfence “Diagnostics” page at the very bottom.

    2. Go to Wordfence “Options” page and under “Other Options” change the setting “Maximum execution time for each scan stage” to 15.

    Let me know if either of those work.

    thank you! the first option worked just fine – seemed to take a little longer to complete but it worked. Any idea why this would happen? Thanks again!
