    Hi,

    Wordfence by default scans most executable files within WordPress folders, but you can make it scan more by enabling these two options under “Scans to Include” on the Wordfence options page:
    * Scan files outside your WordPress installation (scans files outside of wp-admin, wp-includes, etc. — useful if you have other web applications installed)
    * Scan images and binary files as if they were executable (this may make scans take extremely long)

    More details on each option are available by clicking the “i” icon after each option’s name.

    I think I have the dark leech infection on my site. After reading a bit about it, I believe it is very hard to detect.

    Would Wordfence detect it?

    Hi,

    I haven’t seen a site myself with that infection, but it should be able to be detected in most cases, especially if all of the Wordfence scan options are enabled. We have a guide here, to help clean hacked sites — some of the more aggressive scan options may find additional files, and there are recommendations on updates, passwords, etc., which may help prevent reinfection:
