Scan detection of social media buttons

Hi there,

I’m trying to understand how to setup the plugin correctly in regards to social media buttons.

On the website in question we only have social media icons that link to external social media profiles, no embedded social media content of any kind. In the wizard, after scanning, the ‘Consent > Services’ page states “The scan found social media buttons or widgets for Instagram on your site, which means the answer should be yes”.

This message doesn’t appear when we temporarily removes the linked icons.

Is it correct to assume the scan doesn’t discriminate between actual embedded social media content (for which we would need to ask consent) and links to external social media profiles (for which we don’t)? If so, I assume we can safely select ‘no’ as the answer to the question ‘Does your website contain embedded social media content, like buttons, timelines, videos or pixels?’. Is that correct?

Just verifying, so there is no social media activity going on we might be overlooking.
