I performed a cookie scan but Google Analytics detects me (no longer present on the site), how can I do a new scan by cleaning up the old information?

    Thanks!

    Hi @lisabaldrati,

If you just wish to disable Google Analytics from appearing on the Cookie Policy as you’re no longer using the service:

    • You can navigate to Complianz -> Wizard -> Consent -> Cookie Descriptions
    • Scroll to the Google Analytics service and untick the “Show on Cookie Policy” checkbox next to all of its’ cookies.
    • Save settings.

Alternatively, you could also delete the entire list of cookies that had been detected on your website (Complianz -> Wizard -> Consent -> Cookie Scan -> Delete) and perform a new scan entirely.

    Kind regards, Jarno

Hi @jarnovos , thanks for your help
can I ask one more thing?

Why in Cookie Scanning are there fewer cookies than the Cookie Descriptions?

Does it depend on this item? (Logged in users only, will be ignored)

    Hi @lisabaldrati,

Of course. During the Cookie Scan, the plugin will report the cookies that are actually being placed in the browser when visiting the website.

And then under Wizard -> Consent -> Services you will find questions such as “Select the third-party services that are used on your website” and “Select which social media are used on the website”.

Let’s say you answer the above questions with “Google Maps” and “Facebook”, and then you run a Cookie Sync. The plugin will then expand the results by adding the cookies that could be set as a result of using these services (Google Maps, Facebook) on your website, but hadn’t been detected during the initial Cookie Scan.

And finally, the sync obtains the available information about the entire list of these cookies from CookieDatabase.org, so that all of the information can be displayed on your Cookie Policy document.

Hope it helps! Kind regards, Jarno

Thanks so much for the info, really helpful!

It’s still not clear to me what the “Only logged in users, will be ignored” item that I find in the cookie list means.
