Since updating to Wordfence 6.1.3 I get the error:

Scan can’t continue – stored data not found after a fork. Got type: boolean

The scan stops after a different number of files.
I have read all the posts mentioning this and many say “Disable config caching” on the Options page, but there is no such option.

wp-admin is not blocked by .htaccess or anything else, and scans on other blogs on the same server are fine.

I have tried the various suggestions for scan not finishing but that doesn’t help either.

  • Hey Steve,

The “Disable Config Caching” option is at the bottom of the Diagnostics page, not the options page.

Not sure if it will fix your issue, but I thought it might point you in the right direction at least.

Thanks, found it but it didn’t make a difference. I will continue in the more recent thread, Scanning stops

The same for me. After upgrading 6.1.3, I get this error while scanning: Scan can’t continue – stored data not found after a fork. Got type: boolean. I tried it on three different wordpress sites.

Just following up — this issue was fixed in 6.1.4 and was related to storage of temporary scan data that affected some sites. If anyone still sees this message (or another scan error), please let us know by making a new post. Thanks!
