Scaling images script

I’d search this forum and google for scripts that can scale images automatic and found, and I’m using, timthumb. The problem is that it can only work images that are under my own domain and only filenames without symbols like x and -. What I’m looking for is a script, or tweek of timthumb, so it, or another script, can show images from other servers/domains. Does anyone know any script for this?
